What no lights?
Rumours of there actually being no lights this year, have been quoushed by a positive news story in the Biggleswade Chronicle published on 23rd November. However, it may not be clear to every reader, that none of the strings of lights will be put up this year. Instead the lights will consist of features on lamp posts and in actual trees already in the market square. It seems that the only part of the 50 year traditional layout remaining will be a tree by the war memorial. Everything from previous years remains in storage. Read this article: www.biggleswadetoday.co.uk and if you could, leave your feedback on our Facebook page and also by commenting on the Chronicle Story using their feedback system, that would be great.

Christmas Lights 2012
At a recent town council meeting it was agreed to continue with the tradition over the last few years of having the Switch-On on the first Friday of December. That makes this year's switch on Friday 7th December 2012.
The council, are now officially more involed with the lights this year, with financial backing.
See: http://www.biggleswadetoday.co.uk/news/local-news/future-is-bright-for-lights-1-4236773 for more information.
If you have questions about the switch-on ceremony do contact a member of the local town council or contact the secretary of the Biggleswade Chamber of Trade, graham@biggleswade-lights.org
What do you think the lights should look like this year, being the 50th anniversary of the lights?
Should there be more or less strings of lights across the street?
How should we be marking the Golden year of our town lights?
