In brief, after months of waiting for completion of a lights transfer away from the Chamber of Trade, the CoT have instead U-turned and will run the lights again this year. (Some may remember that at the Chamber of Trade's annual general meeting in 2009, that they announced they would not be running the lights due to the lack of support and financial burden.
Have a read of this weeks Chronicle (15th October edition), don't panic, and feel free to use our Facebook fan page to let us know what your hopes are for the lights in 2010.

2010 count down begins
Six months to go, and our volunteering team are dusting off getting ready to raise the funds required to get our lights looking as glorious as ever this Christmas 2010.
You may have heard that the Chamber of Trade are handing the lights to the team of volunteers who lead on raising the 2009 funds, and this year that team will manage the 2010 lights project and the necessary fund raising.
More news over the coming weeks as we announce new and fresh ideas that make the lights more and more community focused. Hurrah!

Boom boom - Out go the lights!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.We received so much positive feedback, and appreciative comments, that we are enthused to work as hard in 2010 to continue the lights.
We have some challenges ahead. LED bulbs will become compulsory at some point, but we feel if possible we should start a gradual move to green, more energy efficient bulbs, but they are about 6 times the cost of a standard bulb.
We have various planning and approval requests to wade our way through to put strings of lights in new places.
We're sleeping now until March, and then off we go again for 2010. Do get in touch if you'd like to help. Help@Biggleswade-Lights.org
